Q: I have a muscle pull type pain in my chest, it only hurts when I am lying down. What is happening?

For the past week and a half, every night I have had a muscle type pain in my upper left side. The pain only occures when I am sleeping. The pain creeps into my left under arm and to the back side of my upper chest. Why is this happening, and what is going on?

Thank you for your help.
