Q: I have been experiencing a pain on my right side under my ribs near my spine

when I inhale deeply, yawn, cough, or sneeze..I had my gall bladder & appendix removed several years ago. 37yr old fem, non-smoker. It just started out of the blue and it's been 5 days..also doesn't hurt to the touch or when i walk, however when i'm in bed it is a little difficult to move cause of the pain..I do have HBP which i'm in the process of going thru test to determine cause if any..

Hi CarmenS,

 

I think it's important that you visit with your physician about this pain since one of the most common causes of this type of pain, gall baldder disease, can be ruled out for you.

Your physician should be able to tell you if the pain is associated with your previous gall bladder surgery or something else entirely.
