Is it normal to be disoriented? My operation was a week ago and I am having trouble operating the remote control for my TV also the computer and other little things. My wife is typing this. I could not begin to type. I had a triple bypass.

Hi dca,
Here is a link that discusses 10 things to do after bypass surgery. Number 3 explains that you may be confused for several weeks after surgery. However, I encourage you to follow up with your physician or go to the ER since you should rule out any serious complications, such as a stroke.
Best of luck,

It doesn't sound right to me, and I think you should call your doctor right away and let him know. Are you maybe just sleepy???
When I first got home, and for the first couple of weeks, all I did was sit in a lazyboy chair and watch TV, I did use the remote with no troubles, but I didn't do to much else, and I took 1 or 2 naps during the day.
Another thing it might be for you, is how the medication is effecting you.
The first few weeks we take pain killers like Hydrocodone or vicodin, I don't know if these could make you disoriented??? (ask the dr)
I only took one pill every four hours, instead of two every four hours, and I never felt disoriented.
