my 83yr old father has been taking warfrin for 2weeks now he has been vomiting blood in his flem sometimes its dark and sometimes its bright he has a heart irregularity but he also has purple lips his doctors saids that he has to stay on the warfrin but its not regular {take full dose then cut back dosage then not take it for a day} is this how they regulate it???

The symptoms you've mentioned are potential side effects of warfarin; however, the dosing method is not necessarily typical. I recommend consulting with his physician to learn the reason for this dosing strategy. If you are not satisfied with the answer there is nothing wrong with getting a second opinion regarding your fathers treatment plan.
