Q: Low Blood Pressure

Hello i am  a 53 yr old female..I have always had normal to low BP..lately when I measure my BP , with my home - kit (that works accurately) it has been as low as 86/48. I told my cardiologist this and he doesnt think its anything serious..over the past three years I have had normal ekgs, a normal Cath in 2006, and a normal stress-echocardiogram last month. Although all tests keep coming back normal ,my BP seems very low..should I be concerned or get another opinion...I do not take any meds that would lower my BP..Thank you   Marie

Hi Marie,

I agree, your blood pressure is on the low side.  There is nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion, which I encourage you to do.

All the best,
