i had a pain in the center of my chest exercising, went to hospiital but ekg was normal
i was practicing juijitsu and had a pain in the center of my chest, maybe would call it tightness. i had no other symptoms but went to the hospital. my ekg was normal. and the center of my chest was sore to the touch...of course that could be cause i kept pushing on it. i am in china, the hospital is good, but still worried. never happened before.
cfm,
Thanks for your question. Because of the chest tenderness, this most likely is due to a musculo-skeletal cause rather than cardiac. However, because of your active lifestyle, the safest thing to do is schedule an appointment with a physician for a check up. During this evaluation, the doctor will take your history which will screen you for risk factors for heart disease. Depending on these factors, your age and other information, he might suggest a cardiac stress test to be sure that it is safe to continue your juijitsu program. If he does not mention it, you should ask about it.
When it comes to chest discomfort, you should never take chances. Follow up on the emergency room evaluation, which just looks for acute problems.
Best wishes.

Hello,It is possible during your practice you may have strained a muscle,do you rember during your practice if you were practing with someone else,if you may have been possibly hit in the chest area during your practice?I dont know if you were just going thru moves on your own or sparing with someone.Years ago I took lessons in Martial arts and pulled a muscle in my chest,Jim
