paula clarke,   Thanks for your question.   As you know, chest pain is a symptom of heart disease, but could also be caused by several other things, like bruised muscles/ribs in the chest, indigestion and other gastrointestinal causes.  To determine what is going on requires many more questions asked and answered, as well as a physical examination and electrocardiogram.    In your case, you weight is slightly above target, and it seems there is much concern.  The best and safest thing to do is make an appointment to see your physician soon to have this symptom evaluated.  If this is your heart, then you are doing the right thing by seeking help right away.  If this is not your heart, then you have done the right thing by getting peace of mind.   Best wishes and feel better.   Martin Cane, M.D.
