Q: Would you tell me of the long term effects glyceryl trinitrate - many thanks AB

I sometimes use it for my stable angina pain - this occurs as a moderately strong pain - only in center of chest - generall after walking briskly for 5 mins and then decreases until at about 8 mins vanishes and I walk on briskly for say another 20 minutes without any pain - I believe that I could then walk painlessly for say another hour or more - but this I have not put to the test.

Hi Nat,

It's possible after long term use to develop a tolerance for glyceryl trinitrate making it less effective.  However, I recommend discussing the long term effects with your physician and/or pharmacist.

All the best,
