So when it happens Zandra, try to relax your breathing which is tough because any normal inhale hurts, so I take shorter breaths till it passes. Now I get up and take advil liquid gels to help the stabbing ache in my back. I remember holding my breath also, hoping the pain would go away, I think that is a natural reaction when taking a breath hurts. I was told to take advil and try and take it easy. Do you move or lift heavy objects at anytime in your day, that will make it worse so try and limit that activity. I am a do it yourselfer, so it is hard for me to completely stop, but I have gotten better. It never hurts to get it checked out by your Dr. to make sure of what it is.
