Q: sudden sharp stabbing chest pain?

my fiance is 21 years old and has been having sudden sharp stabbing chest pains in the center or upper left side of his chest. he does have anxiety problems but is taking medication for this and he is doing fine with his anxieties they are not acting up or anything like that. these pains just come out of no where, he is not anything close to over weight he is rather healthy. The doctors say his heart is very strong and his arteries look good. they say this pain is just Chronic Chest Pain and they can not do anything about it..i just have a hard time believing that and I would like to know the cause of this is. Please help. Thank you.

I encourage your fiance to continue to follow up with his physician for yearly checkups at least to ensure that this does not become something serious. Also, if you are not convinced that your fiance was given the correct diagnosis, I encourage you to get a second opinion.

It sounds like classic anxiety symptoms. Although you say he gets this pain when his symptoms aren't acting up, anxiety is psychological, so symptoms could come on at anytime, without warning.  I have had the same type thing and I've had EKGs, chest x-rays and blood tests and they've all come back good, no one can give me an answer, but to say that it's anxiety.  Mine are very mild, so I don't really worry about it like I used to.
