Chris,   Thanks for your question.    Your girlfriend's BP is very high, and more importantly is has been high for some time.  Her symptoms of headache and now nosebleeds could certainly be from the blood pressure.  Has she been taking her medication regularly?    She must see her physician as soon as possible and get her pressure down.  The longer she goes with blood pressure this high, the higher the risk for developing other problems, including stroke.  If her doctor is not aggressive, she should find another physician.   Martin Cane, M.D.
