Monday, July 26, 2010 susan asks

Q: if a very active 69 yr old man drinks 6 cups of coffee every morning and fasts for echo

 no meds at all healthy 69 yr man goes for echo, anxiety level high and used to having multiple cups of coffee every morning who has fasted since last nite is now fasting  comes out with a 15% out of 50 ejection fraction is it possible to be wrong reading? was so nervous b/c he was late he had to sit outside and calm down

There is always the possibility of an error with any test. I recommend discussing your concerns with his physician. Here is a post with information on ejection fractions:
