Should healthy people consult a cardiologist before running a half marathon?

I'm a healthy 39 year old male who has been running regularly for 14 years and off and on before that. My blood pressure, pulse rate, lipid panel and glucose are all within normal levels. I've never had chest pains. I'm 5'10"and 185 pounds. I saw that three people died in the...
