Q: irrigular heart beat

My heart feels like it is flipping over and seems to stop for a split second then is irrigular sor a split second then it goes into normal rythmn. I does so at maybe 10-30 beats. Also @once to twice a month I will have the dizziness which will last all day. I happens when I get up from a chair and I have to bend my head down for a few seconds to catch up but I am weak the whole day and the next day it is gone. The heart flipping or skipping or whatever has me really scared. I called for an appt. but can't get in until the 20th of this month. I am afraid I will go to bed and not wake up. I really need advice. Thanks, Glenda S.

Hi Glenda....

I've had the same symptoms with my heart (like my heart does a big flip and then stalls for about 3 seconds before it starts beating regularly again).  Sometimes it will keep doing it over and over again before getting back to normal.  I too was scared and went to Loma Linda Heart Center where they did an EKG, a treadmill and made me where a heart monitor for 30 days.  Turns out I have an irregular heartbeat where my heart will have an extra beat (the flipping feeling) and then the heart pauses a second before beating regularly.  I was like you, afraid to go to sleep.  The doctor said its nothing to worry about and that its more bothersome than anything.  They call it PAC's.  Hope this helped.
