Q: Chest Pains

I have had pain in my left side of my chest, and left side for over 3 months. The pain is stabbing at times.I have been to the emergency room 3 times and each time was given an EKG which said I had no signs of heat attack or blockage. I have also had them test my enzyme levels which also are good. My blood pressure is normal but recently did a lipid panel and  found out my:  cholesterol was 224 Triglycerides 283 HDL 33 LDL 147 Evey thing else checked out OK. I am still feeling discomfort and don't want to go to the emergency room for the 4th time for them to tell me I am OK. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If the pain has lasted this long being three months then the chances of it being cardio are very small. If you had no posivitve results for angnia or anything else like that then I wouldnt worry. If you start to notice irrgular heart beats or anything of that matter then i would DEFINATLY go back to the ER. It sounds like anxiety (altho i know youre thinking but im not an anxious person) its a good chance thats a culprit! A doctor recently told me most chest pain even in the elderly is not cardio related. Its mostly likely muscle wall pain.

When ever I take my pulse it seems to be beating normally even though I am feeling pain. The test they gave me in the ER is a blood enzime test (I think) is that the same as angina test?
