Q: When is it accepptable to be able to have sex after you've had the mesh put in your heart.. ??

I HAD A ASD OCCLUSION DONE IN SEPTEMBER THEY PYT A MESH IN HEART.. IV HAD A LITTLE TROUBLE OUT OF IT , BEEN BACK IN THE HOSPITAL ..HAD A FEW MED CHANGES.. IM ON SOTOLOL AND DIGOXIN AS WELL AS PLAVIX.. SO MY QUESTION IS WHEN IS IT SAFE TO START HAVIN SEX AGAIN... OH AN YES I STILL HAVE CHEST PAINS .. AN SOME SOB... IT COMES AN GOES ..  JUST ASKIN IF ANYONE KNOWS GIVE ME A YELLUndecided

Andy,

 

Only your doctor/cardiologist will be able to give you a good answer to that question since he/she is the only one who knows what your heart is able to handle.  I suggest you call your doctor.  It may be something that can even be answered over the phone if your case is fresh on his/her case load.

Oh yes its fresh on his case load.. i have been back and forth in the hospital with a little trouble.. And am still having a little chest pain. . but i walk at least a mile at night at work when possible .. and im not stupid enough to go jump up and do something if im in pain or feeling funny. I am also in the medical field. Just not cardiac.. But thankyou very much i guess Ill have to make that dreaded call to the Dr.. very embarrassing... lol
