Q: when is a pace maker usually the last resort???

THEY HAVE FIXED THE ASD . BUT I WENT INTO AFIB AND HAD A BIT OF TROUBLE . THEY TOOK ME OFF DIGOXIN AND PROPANOL AND PUT ME ON  SOTALOL . 80MG 2X A DAY . WOKE UP THE OTHER NIGHT  BP WAS190/160 P50  SO NOW THEY HAVE ME BACK ON  DIGOXIN -SOTALOL AN CLONADINE IF THE SYS IS OVER170.. QUESTION IS WILL THIS BE OVER SOON OR AM I HEADED FOR A PACEMAKER.. WHEN I SLEEP MY HEART RATE DROPS TO 30 . THE DR SAYS THATS NORMAL FOR ME .. ??? AT THIS POINT I DONT KNOW... AN AM VERY WORRIED????
