Hi Nancy,

Yes, it is possible for a heart attack to present itself as a feeling of heartburn and symptoms may come and go. I recommend contacting your physician.

Have you ever had a drain in your house that is clogging?

The water goes away really slow, sometimes it will stop for a second or two then start draining again really slow??

Then one day it clogs completely and you need to call a plumber to clean out or replace your pipes.

The feeling of heart burn some people feel, other describe it differently. But it normally only last for less then 90 seconds and then goes completely away.

It will leave you tired or sleepy. You can have these short busts of heart burn several a day, for a few days, before an artery completely clogs and doesn't unclog, it will bring you to your knees and you will more then likely be unable to move.

If this feeling your feeling really feels like a heart burn that you've have in the past, it probable isn't a heart attack. The pains people may have before a heart attack are pains they've NEVER felt before. You will be like "WOW that was something I've never felt before". If you feel it, you will know something is not right with you and you should be figuring out how to get help.
