treating heart condition

i used to have heart palpitaion. that's why i am taking up tenormin 50g as my maintenance medicine. is is the right medicine for me? thank you so much!

Thanks for your question.  Palpitations are a common complaint and are felt when there are "skipped" heartbeats, early beats, abnormal heart rhythms, and others.  There are many possible underlying causes.  After an evaluation, you doctor decides what treatment, if any, is required. 

 

Tenormin (generic-atenolol) is a beta-blocker which helps control many causes of palpitations.  It is a frequently used medication for this complaint.  Your question stated that you "used to have heart palpitation", so I'm hopeful that you are now under control.
