Christine,   Thanks for your question.  I'm sorry to hear that you've had so many problems.   It is difficult to tell with any certainty what might be the cause of your chest discomfort.  This is definitely a situation that you should discuss with your doctor.  Any patient with your recent problems who is having any discomfort, should inform their doctor.  You will need to be seen and have an electrocardiogram done to be sure this is not your heart.  There are other possible causes that need to be checked also.  Yes, this could be muscular, but that conclusion can only be made with a physical exam, EKG, and after other causes have been ruled out.  Your doctor will take this symptom serious, especially with your recent heart attack followed by complications.    Call him today.   Martin Cane, M.D.
