He has asthma and is taking pulmicort. He is also using his albuterol during games and practice. Lately he is complaining about chestpain and the pain goes through his chest and it hurts between his shoulderblades.

Im very sorry for the delay. I only wish there were enough people to answer all the questions. Unfortunately there is no way to diagnose a problem like this over the internet but I would suggest you see his doctor and ask their advice. They will be able to tell far better in person what to do than anyone who cant actually meet with your son.
