Q: I'm in my late 20s - what tests should I have now that can establish baseline heart health data?

My father's side of the family has a high incidence of heart problems and I'm concerned that, despite healthy lifestyle choices, genetics are working against me.  Other than a cholesterol test, what tests should I have done now and in my 30s to establish baseline heart health data, and that may also alert me to any developing problems that could arise in my 40s and 50s.  Also, are there any good genetic tests for heart risk factors?

Hello brau0217,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. aside from a cholesterol test you could also get a treadmill stress test. This would help detect anything that might be abnormal now... I hope this was helpful, and sorry again for getting back to you so late.
