Q: when is an angiogram necessary?

my husband is diagnosed to have a cardiomyopathy or heart enlargement. he is 33 yrs old. the doctor suggested an angiogram to see the real cause of the problem. considering the cost of the procedure, i am asking if there is really a need for that.

Hi Lizamarie,

Here is a link to information on angiograms - http://www.healthcentral.com/ency/408/003799.html

Maybe viewing the "results" section would be useful.

All the best,
