I READ ON A SITE WHERE PROCARDIA XL CAN STOP YOUR HEART. DO YOU HAVE INFO ON THIS
LYNDA,
Thanks for your question. I am unaware of any instance in which Procardia XL (also known as nifedipine) has caused a person's heart to stop beating. An on-line search also failed to find any report of this.
Procardia XL is a medication in the calcium channel blocker category that is used for the treatement of heart disease (angina due to coronary artery disease) and hypertension. Unlike other calcium channel blockers that can slow the heartbeat, Procardia XL does not have much affect on pulse rate.
I hope this has been helpful.
