Pam vittatoe,   Thanks for your question.  It's very difficult to accurately answer your question because much more information is needed.  Any chest pain that is a concern should be evaluated by your physician who will take your history and perform a physical examination and electrocardiogram.  Then he/she will be in a better position to determine what the problem (if any) might be.  He might also request further testing.    In addition to making an appointment, please review our website about heart disease, its symptoms and treatment.  This information will come in handy for your appointment and discussion with your doctor.   Best wishes.   Martin Cane, M.D.
