Topics:Slo-Niacin ingredients

I just read that Slo-Niacin (By Upsher-Smith) has hydrogenated oil in the ingredients.  Is this still safe to take?  Also, I read you can score the 500 tablet on the line so that you only take 250 mg.  Is this correct information?  Lorraine8
