Q: heart valve surgery

My sister has had surgery to repair her one heart valve, since then she has gained quite a bit of weight, and is still having leg swelling, now they say the one behind is leaking also, is congenital, is this need to be alarmed? The weight gain, swelling, just doesnt seem right?

I had a valve implant 10 years ago and am taking furosemide to evacuate the water.  Exercise help a lot. I spend 1 hour twice a week at a gym with a trainer.  This has really helped.
