Q: Kawasaki disease and arthritis.

Is there a link between Kawasaki's disease as a child, cardiomyopathy, and arthritis as an adult?

It is possible for this disease to be linked to heart conditions and arthritis later in life.  I recommend discussing your situation with your physician.

Thanks Lisa. My son had Kawasaki disease at age 2, then Legg-Perthes disease at age 5. He is now 23 and has mild cardiomyopathy and now is complaing of joint aches and pains. I have always suspected that all of this is related. He currently doesn't have a cardiologist that we can talk to, but I'm thinking he may need to establish contact with one. I appreciate your input.
