Study: Heart risks higher for diabetics

Experts have long known that diabetes is a risk factor for heart disease, but a new study offers more details about the extent of those risks. The report on more than 62,000 patients suggests that people with diabetes who suffer from a heart attack are nearly twice as likely to die within 30 days as patients who don't have diabetes. And experts say this is just one of the ways cardiac disease and diabetes are linked. Read more »
