New research suggests that the young veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars who have mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression are also at higher risk for having heart disease risk factors such as tobacco use, high blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol levels, and obesity.
