Study: Home monitoring helps heart patients

Researchers say remote monitoring can improve outcomes for mobile heart failure patients. Investigators in Boston put heart failure patients into two groups. One received the usual heart failure treatment, while the other was given telemonitoring equipment to track vital signs such as heart rate, pulse, and blood pressure. This information, as well as answers symptom-related questions and daily weight, were transmitted to a nurse who followed the patients' progress and spoke to them when needed.... Read more »
