A new study involving patients with chronic heart failure has found that beginning treatment with the beta blocker Concor COR (bisoprolol) lowers the risk of sudden death in these patients by 46 percent after one year. The findings challenge the current guidelines that heart-failure treatment should begin with an ACE inhibitor and not a beta blocker.
