Flying appears to increase the risk of irregular heartbeat in older people who have a history of heart disease, a new study suggests. Experts say flying in an airplane is roughly the equivalent pressure change of going from sea level to a mountain of about 8,000 feet, an experience that can be very stressful for people's hearts. It is particularly stressful if a person already has some type of cardiac problem.
