A med that lowers a person's resting heart rate is being tested in two new clinical trials. Lower resting heart rates have been linked with better outcomes among people with cardiovascular disease. Researchers are testing whether ivabradine--a med that affects the heart's natural pacemaker and lowers this resting heart rate--can improve treatment for people with heart failure, coronary artery disease, and other heart conditions.
