Deadly type of stroke targets women, Mexican Americans

University of Michigan researchers are reporting that women and Mexican Americans may be more at risk for suffering a severe type of stroke known as a subarachnoid hemorrhage. These strokes, which often begin with a "thunderclap" headache, causes bleeding around the brain. According to new research, Mexican Americans are one and two-thirds more likely to suffer this type of stroke than Caucasians, and women are one and three-quarters times more likely. Read more »
