New drug for deep vein thrombosis may ease treatment

There may soon be a new treatment for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) that does not involve daily injections or continuous monitoring. A new study compared once-weekly injections of a drug called idraparinux to the current treatment, once-daily heparin injections, in patients with DVT. Researchers found little difference in the effectiveness of the two medicines in these patients. Read more »
