What Is Verapamil For?

High doses of verapamil may cause an irregular heartbeat in some
patients who take the medication for cluster headaches, according
to a recent study. One in five patients in the small study had a
disorder of the heart's regular rhythmic beating while taking
verapamil. Some of the trade names that verapamil is sold under
include Calan, Verelan, or Covera.
