15 Top Tips to Help You Unwind During the Holidays

(Page 2)

c) Emotional well-being:

  1. Try to view challenges as something positive, even opportunities or blessings
  2. Breathe slowly, and deliberately before you react to a stressful situation
  3. Allow yourself to laugh – they do say, “Laughter is the best medicine.” There is definitely a lot of truth in those words, and laughing is known to release tension, and also hormones which act as a stress reliever
  4. Let yourself cry – tears are a great way of relieving your body from some of the tension and stress which has been building up
  5. Talk about your troubles – often someone else will view a situation in a completely different light to how we saw it at first. Why not talk to your partner, doctor, friend, family member, or your pastor for an alternative take on the matter?

Don’t let stress ruin your health; chances are if you can effectively manage your stress levels now, you’ll experience a longer, healthier life as a result!
