Early use of Lipitor, Crestor boosts angioplasty outcomes

Two new studies have found that angioplasty patients have better outcomes if they take cholesterol-lowering statins after the procedure. In one study, chest-pain patients who were given Lipitor in the emergency room fared better after angioplasty than those who did not receive the medication. A second study found that doses of Crestor kept cholesterol from building up in the primary artery from the heart to the brain.  Read full story >
