Daytime sleeping slows recovery in rehab

Researchers have found that people who sleep more during the day
while undergoing rehabilitation from a stroke have a longer
recovery period. Results showed that people who slept more during
the day during rehabilitation had significantly less functional
recovery even after adjusting for mental status, hours of therapy
received, and reason for admission. The study included 245 adults
with an average age of 80.6 years who were admitted for inpatient
physical or occupational therapy.
