Doctors debate cancer risk of Vytorin, Zetia

Hundreds of heart experts attended a panel discussion at the annual meeting of the American Heart Association to debate the benefits and risks of the cholesterol drugs Vytorin and Zetia. Some cardiologists in the debate tried to calm concerns about the increased cancer risk that's been linked to the drugs, while others urged caution in prescribing the drugs until larger studies are performed on their safety. Vytorin--which is a combination of Zetia and Zocor--was linked to an increased risk of cancer in a British study in July of this year. Read full story >
