A new study suggests that erectile dysfunction increases the risk for heart disease. Researchers at the Mayo Clinic found that men who suffered from ED were 80 percent more likely to develop heart disease than their non-ED peers. And the strongest link appeared to exist in younger men. Those between the ages of 40 and 49 who had ED were twice as likely to develop heart diseases as other men, the study found. While the link between the two conditions is not clear, experts suggest that early ED may be a harbinger of heart trouble to come.
