Bran, whole grains may fight high blood pressure in men

Results from a new Harvard study show that eating whole grains and bran may help men fight hypertension. Researchers looked at data on 31,684 men who had not developed high blood pressure, cancer, or heart disease at the start of the study period. They found that after 18 years, the men who ate the highest amount of whole grains were 19 percent less likely to develop hypertension than the men who ate the least amount of these grains. Data from a study of women also showed similar results.
