Stroke treatment window can be wider: study

Doctors can give stroke patients tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) up to 4.5 hours after they have a stroke and the patient will still benefit from the treatment, researchers say. This finding adds to the evidence that the treatment window for tPA in stroke patients should be extended from three hours--the current recommended treatment limit--to 4.5 hours.  Read full story >
