Bleeding Alert Issued on Stroke Drug Combo

People who suffer a stroke due to a blocked brain artery and who are given the clot-busting drug tPA are much more likely to have excess bleeding if they have been taking the blood thinner Coumadin (warfarin), new research suggests. In fact, scientists found that this drug combination causes a 10-fold increased bleeding risk among these patients.  Read full story >
