Thalidomide May Treat Blood Vessel Disorder

The drug thalidomide may help treat a blood vessel condition called hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), a new study suggests. Thalidomide is best known for causing birthing defects when it was first used as a morning sickness pill 50 years ago. But in a new study, scientists found that the drug was able to reduce the frequency and severity of nosebleeds in patients with HHT, thus easing one of the main symptoms of the blood-vessel wall disorder.
