Who should enroll?
The PROACT study is open to anyone between the ages of 18-70 whose doctor has recommended heart valve replacement and does not currently have the On-X® valve or any other prosthetic valve. Patients with implanted valves that are not scheduled to be replaced are not eligible.
Since the On-X® valve is FDA approved for general use, the surgery and the use of the valve in the study is covered under standard reimbursement and expenses rules of Medicare or private insurance identically to any other valve. Read about the additional benefits of participating here.
