My 14 year old son was complaing of a severe headach, I took him to the Dr. His BP was 140/91. He is otherwise healthy, not overweight, very active in sports. He has an appontment today, I am going to see if the Dr. will order an ECHO or some other type of test, I am very worried, as I know how hard football practice can be. If anyone else has this similar situation it would be great to hear from you.

Hi. I just came across your post. I was wondering what was happening with your son. My son too was getting headaches and after home monitoring and a 24 hour blood pressure monitor was diagnosed with HBP. He is now on Hyzaar which makes me very unhappy. We are trying more exercise and weight loss to see if it improves. What did your dr. test for. My guy didn't really test for anything but put him on the meds. Please let me know, I need some feedback.

I too am dealing with the same situation. My son is a 16 year old athlete who has begun having severe headaches and a blood pressure about the same as yours sons. We have had and MRI and MRA and several x-rays of his head. No answers. Have you had any luck? We will be taking him to a larger hospital today for hopefully some answers.
