Apart from the foods mentioned, alternative medicine too can provide viable solutions for hypertension. And alternative therapy is usually without any side effects. Check out www.rvita.com for various therapeutic modes including Ayurvedic medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and yoga. The site recommends only those remedies which show a scientific rating of ‘strong or good evidence' by Natural Standards.

The title of this article is five foods to lower blood pressure. Vegetables and fruits are mentioned ... but not which specific ones work the best. C'mon.

Article was not organized well. At first glance it looks like sugar and salt are things you should ADD to your diet to lower blood pressure. And a vegetarian diet is not a food. Article was helpful but needed to be much more specific.

I agree that using a blood pressure monitor at home is a good way to check your blood pressure as often as you want that helps you control it better. It can also warn you if there's something wrong with your health before it becomes more serious symptom.
