Stephanie Tubbs Jones, 58, suffered an apparent aneurysm Tuesday night that caused her to lose consciousness while driving, reported Politico.

UPDATE: Reports confirm that Tubbs Jones died Wednesday.

According to reports, police pulled over Tubbs Jones' car in Cleveland around 9 p.m. Tuesday after noticing that it was moving erratically. Police discovered the congresswoman unconscious but breathing in the driver's seat, reported Politico.

Tubbs Jones, a graduate of Case Western University law school, was the first black woman elected to the House from Ohio and was named chairwoman of the House Ethics Committee in 2007.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tubbs Jones and her family at this difficult time.
